About the Opportunity:
The Senior Production Manager will serve as part of a team that is responsible for delivering new and innovative learning products to the students, customers, and end-users of Northeastern University. This position will embrace industry-aligned best practices in media creation for the Online Experiential Learning department and the broader mission of Northeastern University. This individual will help drive solutions and implement requirements to support the growth of Northeastern products to our global university system.

This position reports and works in close collaboration with the Director of Product Development and Media Design.

This person will be responsible for and/or demonstrate the following skills or experiences:
  • Manage the planning and execution of various projects for the multimedia team within OEL to help reach strategic goals effectively and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the Product Management team during the scoping and requirements gathering project intake process to create a detailed description of the creative and technical requirements specific to the product's media asset needs.
  • Establish and manage production schedules, forecasting team resource allocation, timelines, deliverable schedules & milestones, and other pertinent production management related tasks as necessary.
  • Coordinate project review milestones, progress checklists and review plans for each project by coordinating the approval process with stakeholders.
  • Manage the selection and/or job progress of third-party vendors and freelance support including but not limited to: producers, editors, graphic designers, motion graphics artists, videographers, and copywriters.
  • Manage competing project priorities based on strategic goals and project complexities.
  • Work effectively as a liaison between various departments to ensure that services, quality and costs are balanced.
  • Prepare and maintain team workfload and project assignments and schedules in accordance with department procedures and uphold accountability for operating within approved budget limits.

Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 6-8 years relevant experience managing projects in a multifaceted media content creation agency or organization.
  • Higher education experience preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment that involves creativity, strategic thinking, working with professionals from a broad variety of areas with varying levels of expertise.
  • Experience managing multiple schedules and creative resource allocation to achieve required deadlines, objectives and budgets.
  • Experience working with external vendors.
  • Knowledge of media production standards and systems
  • Ability to successfully and effectively lead collaborative teams.
  • Strong written and editorial skills, knowledge of AP style preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with financial oversight and management.
