About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Associate Director of GEO Advising, the Advising Coordinator will coordinate projects and initiatives for the Advising branch of the Global Learner Engagement team, including but not limited to pre-departure workshops and orientations, re-entry programming, and Global Network information sessions.

Responsibilities:
The Advising Coordinator will assist in the design, development and implementation of new hybrid advising and student support services. Project tasks include, but are not limited to: Organize, coordinate and oversee management of events, programs and training; facilitate collaboration and outreach with campus partners; management of the Peer Advising program; assist in data collection and presentation; develop and present information about Global Network and Dialogue of Civilization opportunities; identify student and parent inquiries for escalation; liaise with departmental marketing division for consistent communication about global experience programs and policy. This position will collaborate with the GEO Advising team to ensure consistent and sustainable response protocol for students, faculty, and staff of Northeastern University. The coordinator may be required to work before or after normal business hours, including weekends. Some evening and weekend events will require attendance and oversight. Other projects may be assigned by the Director of Global Experience Advising as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus 1-3 years of prior work experience in higher education, preferably within a study abroad office. Master's degree preferred but not required. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to multi-task, take initiative, prioritize and meet deadlines. Comfort with ambiguity and demonstrated flexibility and adaptability is essential. Knowledge of and/or experience with study abroad programs, international partnerships, and faculty-led programming. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to resolve problems in a quick, efficient, creative and culturally competent manner. Project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and programs simultaneously. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound decisions, and execute. Computer skills should include proficiency in Microsoft Office, Terra Dotta, Salesforce, Adobe, and general database management. Previous experience studying or living abroad at the undergraduate level preferred.
