Job Summary
The primary role of this position is setting up, operating, and tearing down audio-visual equipment used by Event and Building Services (EBS). Individuals in this position will be expected to attend, monitor, and appropriately adjust equipment during events including but not limited to sound boards with multiple microphones, projectors, and smart carts.

This position also assists with installation, testing, implementation, and maintenance of audio/visual equipment located in spaces serviced by EBS.Assist with setup, managing, and teardown of audio and video needs for events booked through Event and Building Services.Instruct customers on proper use of the systems and correct procedures for self-diagnosis and reporting of problems. Responsible for creating and maintaining positive interactions with customers and to provide a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities*
Deliver and set up all of EBS audio and video needs.

Manage and operate audio visual equipment during events.

Inventory and keep precise records of all equipment that have been reserved for event use.

Keep precise records of all cords, cables and any audio and video equipment that belong to EBS and the University of Michigan - Flint.

Attend A/V technician staff meetings at least once per month and possibly more frequently.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*
Must have knowledge of basic audio and video connections and installations and have knowledge of cords and cabling that are used in basic audio/video setups.

Some lifting of 50 pounds required.

Evening and weekend availability required.

Desired Qualifications*
Ability to troubleshoot audio and video issues during the course of events.

Background in operating projectors with different computer setups.

Background in basic microphone and soundboard setups.

Work Schedule
All applicants need to submit the hours they are available to work during the next semester. Please do not submit your class schedule, only the times you are available to work.

Hours per week will vary with EBS event schedule.
