Job Summary
Lead the F&O Finance department in providing consolidated business support to Facilities & Operations in the areas of fiscal management, reporting, budgeting, payroll / timekeeping, rate development, and internal controls. There are 18 employees in the F&O Finance group. This position reports to the Administrative Director, Operational Support in F&O.

Responsibilities*
  • Provide financial leadership for F&O operating activities totaling $360 million annually
  • Advance positive organizational efforts which promote a respectful, collaborative, solutions-based, and proactive culture
  • Drive ongoing efforts to simplify F&O operating budget structure, recharge rates, and overhead methodologies
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports for multiple areas with different funding models and structures
  • Evaluate variances in management reports and assess operational adjustments as appropriate
  • Manage general and specialized payroll functions including timekeeping support for F&O employees under collective bargaining agreements, special payments, FMLA monitoring
  • Lead the annual certification process and administer internal controls for F&O while promoting efficiency, accountability, compliance, and fiscal responsibility
  • Champion goals of diversity, equity and inclusion in alignment with organizational strategic plan
  • Foster an environment that promotes employee engagement and development and recognizes staff contributions
  • Ensure that work functions are effectively structured and work procedures are in place to deliver high quality service to F&O partners
  • Collaborate with F&O departments and other campus units for effective and efficient business processes and sharing of information
  • Participate in rate and capital planning for enterprise activities including utilities, transportation, and parking

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance, or related discipline
  • Ten years progressively responsible professional experience in an administrative or management capacity in a financial-related field
  • Experience with budget development, financial analysis, and strategic planning within a complex organization
  • Experience in administering internal controls
  • Demonstrated competency in motivating employees, performance management, and managing employee and operational productivity
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Familiarity with labor agreements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to articulate ideas and processes and give clear direction and guidance both orally and in writing
