In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Job Summary
The mission of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) is to prepare students to become technically competent, culturally sensitive, professional and compassionate physicians who are lifelong learners and will serve society by providing comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare with the distinctive osteopathic philosophy. The role of the faculty in the Department of NMM/OMM is to train students according to the COMP Mission Statement. This is accomplished through excellence in curriculum, translational research, service and osteopathic clinical practice. The faculty member is expected to mentor and be a role model for students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  1. Able and willing to practice NMM/OMM as an adjunct to primary care medicine or other specialty.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively with others, in person, in writing, and via other electronic means, such as telephone, email, and the Internet.
  3. Ability to interact effectively with administration, faculty, staff and students.
  4. Must possess strong organizational, management and administrative abilities.
  5. Have demonstrated proficiency in the field of Osteopathic Principles and Practice


Required Qualifications
  1. Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  2. Evidence of expertise in the application of osteopathic principles and philosophy and OMT in clinical practice.
  3. Experience of 2-3 years in NMM/OMM, Family Medicine or other specialty
  4. Licensure: Unrestricted State Medical License & Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency certificate
  5. Board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, or other specialty board.


Preferred Qualifications
  1. Preference may be given to individuals possessing residency training in NMM/OMM and/or ONMM
  2. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
