Job Summary:
There is an opening to teach Understanding our Environment (ENVS 100) at the University of San Francisco. This course is an introduction to environmental science and environmental studies for non-science majors. It examines the environmental impact of population growth on natural resources; mineral and resource extraction; water resource use and water pollution; air pollution and climate change; and conventional and sustainable energy supplies. Emphasis is placed on a holistic approach to environmental science using class discussions, laboratory exercises, and environmental surveys to reinforce scientific principles.

Full Job Description:

The open section meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 1:00-1:50 p.m.

The fall semester runs from August 23 through December 15, 2022, including a week of mandatory final exams with grades due no later than January 3, 2023.

A minimum of two office hours per week are required.

The faculty member will assume responsibility and accountability for:
*Facilitating student learning
*Evaluating student performance; providing frequent student feedback to enable success; meeting with student at mid-term and end of course to assign grades.

*Teaching to the approved syllabus, which will be provided. Many course materials will be provided to the successful applicant and may be used at their discretion to teach required course content.
