Academic Resources Supervisor

Classification: Support Staff - Part-time
Reports to:Senior Director of Academic Resources

Description: The Academic Resources Supervisor manages the LC Info Desk located in the Learning Commons during evening and weekend hours of operation. The LC Info Desk supports all career and academic support services offered in the Learning Commons. Evening shifts are 5pm to 11:45pm during spring and fall semesters.

Responsibilities:
  • Work independently to implement policies and procedures of Academic Resources
  • Provide customer service support at the LC Info Desk
  • Supervise student employees at the LC Info Desk
  • Supervise and assist peer educators as they hold hours in the Learning Commons
  • Manage activity in the Learning Commons
  • Provide project support as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
    Qualifications:
    Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Two years of relevant experience in academic or career support services preferred

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty and staff using services within the Learning Commons
  • Customer service-oriented attitude
  • Sensitivity to the needs of students
  • Superior written, interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Ability to respond to changing departmental needs
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
