Ensures staff and faculty have the resources to complete their work. Usually serves as a hiring manager and employee service coordinator.

About the Department and/or College
We are Texas Tech Public Media, serving as your public media stations for PBS in Lubbock and El Paso and NPR in Lubbock and San Angelo.

Major/Essential Functions
- Responsible for developing an annual budget and generating monthly reports to gauge the overall financial health of the organization and its adherence to budget targets.
- Create a system of additional reports and routinely execute said reports, such as Profit & Loss Statements, etc. to help illustrate a comprehensive and detailed picture of Texas Tech Public Media's overall financial health.
- Post and track all revenue and expenses.
- Oversee all business aspects of the underwriting process, including but not limited to contract execution, invoicing, collections, and all necessary bookkeeping and accounting.
- The Business Manager is also responsible for sending follow up correspondence on all outstanding balances and other collections efforts until accounts are paid in full.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of all required financial reporting associated with grants and other designated revenue sources, maintaining compliance with applicable guidelines, regulations, and reporting standards.
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Cayuse and attends to grant management and timely distribution of
- TTPM funds. Additionally, is familiar and has a working knowledgeable of all public media and TTU Advancement
- CRMs and other tools necessary for maintenance of membership and fundraising revenue.
- Has a strong working knowledge of COGNOS and other financial management software. Manages all
- departmental budgets and fund code changes.
- Maintains records of employee training and compliance.
- Data accuracy and attention to detail for reports to outside entities and executive leadership.
- Work closely with executive director, campus personnel to represent the stations financial position clearly and credibly.
- Liaises with TTU Human Resources to ensure payroll, expenses, reimbursements and other HR support services run smoothly throughout TTPM.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Fund accounting experience strongly preferred.
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification or in progress.
- Experience with strong understanding of nonprofit or public media funding models (membership/pledge), underwriting, grants, institutional support.
Pay Range
$48,000 - $63,700 - $78,400
