Position Summary

The CoLab at the University at Buffalo is accepting applications for the Program Coordinator role to play a central role in designing, developing, and delivering the programming that brings the department's mission to life.

Reporting to the Associate Director, this position leads the design and facilitation of a diverse portfolio of programs and workshops that cultivate innovation mindsets and practical skills across the full UB student population. The ideal candidate is passionate about learner-centered design, skilled at building inclusive educational experiences, and energized by the opportunity to shape programs that meet students wherever they are on their journey.

In this role, core responsibilities include:

Designing and developing engaging, outcomes-driven programs and workshops for all UB students.
Applying instructional design principles to create accessible, inclusive, and high-impact learning experiences.
Facilitating programs, workshops, and events that build innovation mindsets and skills.
Conceiving and executing communications to raise awareness of CoLab programs across campus
and in the broader alumni and business community.
Planning and coordinating events that attract prospective participants and provide networking
opportunities.
Coordinating cross-campus partnerships to broaden program reach and deepen impact.
Assessing program effectiveness and iterating based on data and student feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, communication, or a related field with a minimum of two years of experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in instructional design principles, curriculum development, or program design.
Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with experience leading workshops, training sessions, or programming for diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational skills and time management; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear program materials, reports, and correspondence.
Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and external partners.
Project management skills; ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver programs from concept to completion.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital collaboration tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.
Commitment to inclusive excellence and the ability to design programs that are accessible and welcoming to all students.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education, student affairs, or a university-based program development role.
Master's degree in instructional design, education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field.
Experience with learning assessment, micro-credentialing frameworks, or competency-based education.
Experience with marketing communications and outreach to promote program offerings.
Familiarity with NACE career-readiness competencies or similar professional development frameworks.
Experience supporting diverse and underrepresented student populations.
Demonstrated interest in innovation, design thinking, or interdisciplinary learning environments.

Physical Demands

Salary Range
$57,151 - $60,000
