Job Summary

The Division of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Clinician (APC). This role involves providing comprehensive outpatient clinical care, focusing on non-surgical management of pelvic floor disorders including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and bowel incontinence.

Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:
Nearly Continuously: Office environment.
Often: Infectious disease, oils (there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids), hazards (includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals).
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required
Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities

Provides outpatient clinical care at 2-3 University of Utah clinical sites, depending on need.
See patients independently for non-surgical management of pelvic floor disorders, primarily urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
Manages behavioral, medication, and in-office procedural aspects of patient care.
Provides pre- and post-operative care.
Performs common clinic procedures including pessary fittings, urodynamics, and general women's healthcare procedures like pap smear screenings and biopsies.
Potential for training in more advanced procedures such as clinic-based neuromodulation procedures and cystoscopy.
Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions.
Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physicians to provide optimal patient medical management.
Orders consultations and interacts with members of other specialty medical teams including urology and colorectal surgery.
Participates in the education of medical trainees, and attendance of relevant academic committees and conferences
Participates in continuing medical education to include specialty and sub-specialty meetings, clubs, boards and conferences.
Assists in the collection of data for research projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Required:

Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant from the State of Utah.
Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Preferred:

Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.
