Position Description
Performs instructional and educational work while serving as a therapist in a clinic/lab. Organizes and develops practicum course work, coordinates classes for practicum students, observes and assesses the needs of the students. Maintains communication both formally and informally with students and other educators. May supervise clerical, professional and/or technical employees and lab students working for college credit.

About the Department and/or College
Major/Essential Functions
- Assists in planning and preparation of lessons to enhance students' skill sets related to life/academic/social skills skills through use of evidence based intervention activities, program design, records management.
- Participates in workshops, trainings, and on-line courses required for job criteria at the Burkhart.
- Maintains and updates proper documentation for Burkhart participants and updates program plans based on data and evaluations to track progress.
- Serve as a lead for determining program goals, implementation, as well as appropriate program placement for Burkhart participants in a variety of setting and programs, dependent on the nature of each program assigned (Clinic, CASE, BCTA, etc).
- Assists in planning curriculum and class activities to all Burkhart programs.
- Participate in behavior management and instructional programs.
- Participates in academic and behavioral assessments.
- Communicates with parents, staff, and Burkhart participants on a daily basis.
- Operates a motor vehicle to transport Burkhart Center clients to and from on- and off-campus locations in accordance with program needs (Clinic, CASE, BCTA, etc.).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in vocational rehabilitation, education, psychology or a related field. Two years professional experience in related practice or other professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience participating in assessment, intervention, and program modification based on data to ensure continued success of students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Pay Range
$17.69 - $22.98 - $28.32
