Job Summary:
Eastern Washington University in Downtown Spokane is looking for a Part-Time Office Assistant to help with front office coverage in the Dental Hygiene Clinic. You'll be working with students and staff; greeting patients; answering phones and emails and coordinating appointments all while keeping the utmost confidentiality. Other job duties will include computer work, office assistance, errands, cash-handling, etc. This position will report to the Operations Manager and requires successful completion of background checks.
This position will work approximately 19 hours per week on the semester system and will pay $20 to $25 per hour. May become eligible for PEBB benefits at 6 months.

Conditions of Employment:
This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Two years of progressively responsible administrative or office support experience, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives
Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and meet established deadlines.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
Proficiency with standard office software and technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google suite or other similar software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience preferably in a Dental Office.
Familiarity with Higher Education administrative systems, policies, or business practices.
Salary and Benefit Information:
$20 to $25 per hour based on experience.
PEBB benefits may become available after 6 months of employment.
Proposed Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Understanding and meeting FERPA and HIPAA requirements for student and patient confidentiality
Use of Microsoft Office Suite, Google suite or other similar software
Use of patient electronic health record (EHR) software, Ascend Academic
Providing general reception services, including greeting guests and answering phones
Providing information and responding to questions in-person and via electronic formats
Making photocopies, scanning, filing, and sorting documents. Processing paperwork and/or card requests
Composing documents and data entry
Supporting mail pickup and delivery
Scheduling patient appointments
Assisting with general errands, attending and assisting with events, and assisting in communications regarding office events
Taking payments and performing other cash handling duties as needed
Performing other related duties as assigned or required
This position will report to the Operations Manager.
