See https://tucker-lab.org for further description of the lab's interests. At the entry-level, this position provides training in lab maintenance and research and is ideal for a recent college graduate interested in gaining experience in research before entering graduate or medical school. Why Join Us:
The Tucker Lab is working on developing cutting-edge new synthetic biology tools to enable transformative experiments in a variety of biomedical fields. For example, we are pioneering work in optogenetics, where we develop switchable proteins that respond to light cues, allowing us to control events in cells at precise times and locations. We are also studying the complex roles of dynamic cellular compartments called biomolecular condensates, exploring how they form and become disrupted, their roles in health, and how they cause diseases. Our lab has trained many research assistants over the years who have gone on to promising careers in graduate school, medical school, and many other areas. We provide an exciting and positive research environment for exploring the biomedical research field and making a direct impact on human health.
