Job Description:

Summary

The Moore Lab studies Forebrain dynamics and their role in information processing, with a focus on attention and perception. A key focus within the laboratory is the Hypothesis that vascular dynamics are key to behavior in real time, a prediction currently in testing.

The main goal of the position is to support investigations of vascular dynamics during behavior, and the determination of the vascular components and neural partners that may support processes like attention and perception. Primarily, investigations will pertain to behavioral testing, rapid brain imaging with bioluminescent or fluorescent indicators, and anatomical studies. This individual will work closely to support the research of more senior lab members (graduate students, postdoctoral associates and the Principal Investigator).

This is a fixed term position with a current end date of one year from the date of hire, which may be extended based upon funding availability.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably within Neuroscience, Psychology or a closely-related STEM field. (Grade 7)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a research setting and/or equivalent combination of education and experience (Grade 8)

Preferred:
  • Previous experience working with rodents, including assisting with surgeries, training, and anatomical studies is advantageous.
  • Basic computing and data analysis skills. MATLAB or Python preferred; any programming experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of established IACUC and laboratory environmental health and safety protocols.
