Job Summary
This temporary position will provide support for a project on the conservation genetics and population ecology of two endangered vernal pool plant species.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The employee will work closely with lead PI Nancy Emery, (CU Boulder), Ezra Kottler (University of the Pacific),and a post-doctoral researcher to analyze DNA data from two closely-related species in the genus Lasthenia, and support fieldwork that involves population monitoring and seed collections.
What You Should Know
- The position requires the employee to conduct advanced population genomic analyses over a relatively short time period with supervision and be comfortable working outside under potentially uncomfortable physical conditions.
What We Can Offer
The hiring range for this position is $26-28.00 per hour.

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require
- Competitive candidates are expected to have demonstrated experience in R, Python, and BLAST, basic lab methods for obtaining genetic data (DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis), field surveys and collections, and data collection and management.
- All applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree and a record of completed coursework in statistics, evolutionary biology, and molecular biology.
