Job Summary
Applications are invited to fill a Temporary Researcher position to assist in modeling photopolymerization kinetics, working with visible-light holographic photopolymer systems, and developing simulations of multifunctional polymerizations. This project is led by Distinguished Professor Christopher Bowman in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Who We Are
The Bowman Research Group is based at the University of Colorado at Boulder and directed by Christopher N. Bowman, James and Catherine Patten Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Our general research thrust is the investigation of the formation, structure and properties of crosslinked polymeric materials, particularly those formed from photopolymerization reactions. Specifically, our group is focusing on developing new materials and photopolymerization mechanisms for a variety of applications including:
- Sequence-Controlled Polymerization of "Click" Nucleic Acids (CNAs)
- "Click" Reactions for Polymer Networks
- Covalent Adaptable Polymer Networks
- Novel Dental Materials
- Photoinduced Synthetic Vesicles for Artificial Cells
These interests are investigated by incorporating a mixture of polymerization reaction engineering, monomer and polymer synthesis, and experimental characterization.

- Performing research/scholarship under direct mentorship
- Drafting and submitting publications of research/scholarship
- Attending responsible conduct of research training
- Attending professional skills training workshops
What We Can Offer
This part-time, temporary position has an hourly rate of $21.00 per hour.

- Previous experience working with polymers and photopolymerized materials
- Previous laboratory research experience
