Job Description
This position provides Tier 2 and 3 technical support and device maintenance for the University and extended campus services, including service and support for personal computers, printing and scanning devices, and multifunctional devices. This position reports directly to the ITS Director of Client Services and Support.
Responsibilities
Administration, management, and service of all computers devices on the UTM campus
Provide consulting and training for campus departments
Assist with the supervision of the configuration and installation team which includes managing and supervising personnel as well as spare parts and device inventory
Tier 2 and 3 technical service and support for OS configuration, software installations, hardware, etc.
Manage and maintain internal file servers for knowledge and data
Manage and maintain Mobile Device Management (MDM) Systems for university campus (JAMF, SCCM, Intune)
Research and test new, innovative technology for computers and copying, scanning, and printing solutions
Creating service and support documentation for the TSS knowledgebase
Provide Tier I support from time to time after major system changes or enhancements
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree; experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis
2 years demonstrated experience in customer service and installation, service, and support of computers, printers, and other desktop equipment.
Experience with modern Windows and Mac operating systems
Experience with iOS and Android operating systems
Experience leading and managing multiple simultaneous projects
Able to plan and carry out work independently and prioritize tasks
Able to plan, direct, and assist in the work of others and delegate tasks as necessary
Able to coordinate tasks with multiple departments on campus
Possess excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)
Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
Able to maintain knowledge of new industry products and services
Self-motivated
Preferred Qualifications:
Four years of experience in installation, service, and support of computers and copying, printing, and scanning devices in an enterprise environment
Bachelor's degree in a technical related field
Advanced knowledge concerning computer, printing, and imaging hardware installation and configuration
Advanced knowledge of service, maintenance, and repair of copiers, scanners and printers
Advanced knowledge of both Windows and Apple operating systems
Familiarity with networking/distributed computing environment concepts
Strong problem solving and research skills
