Job Summary
The Ann and H.J. Smead Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences is seeking a highly motivated research assistant to work on a project investigating methods for secure use of 5G networks in a government/commercial setting. On this project, you will have the opportunity to work with senior faculty and participate in research conducted at the highest level. You will be expected to independently expand your skills and knowledge related to the research.

Who We Are
The GHOST project is researching ways to enable secure use of foreign cellular systems. In particular, we are researching mechanisms to prevent the use of "digital exhaust" to identify/track individuals or determine organizational patterns of life.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
The successful candidate will assist in the analysis and development of application software that aims to protect the identities, locations, and communication connections of the network users from being identified. Additionally, the software aims to mask any patterns from being identified in network traffic, while also adding a level of noise or "decoy" traffic.
What We Can Offer
The starting salary range for this position is $72,000 - $75,000 annually.

What We Require
- B.S. in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or a similar field.
What You Will Need
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Desire to learn, share ideas, and communicate with others.
- Openness to new ideas.
- Experience using at least one object-oriented programming language for scientific computing.
