About the Department and/or College
The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and houses the School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation. The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several formats of the MBA program are offered in fulltime, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio. The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. With a faculty of over 140 and a staff that exceeds 80, the college enrolls over 5,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students.
Major/Essential Functions
- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations for Center programs, including scheduling, purchasing, budget tracking for key initiatives, and coordination of travel and events in accordance with university policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of the Brownlee Center for Real Estate and the Rawls College of Business.
- In partnership with college marketing and communications staff, support Center communications, including website content, social media, and promotional materials that highlight student success, employer engagement, and research activities.
- Plan, implement, and assess commercial real estate student programming (workshops, speaker series, site visits, case competitions, skills trainings, and student travel experiences) that complements the academic curriculum and advances the Centers mission.
- Coordinate with student organizations, college career services, and academic advising to support student engagement, career discernment, and placement into commercial real estate internships and full-time roles.
- Coordinate with Advisory Council leaders to facilitate mentorship programs, student-industry connections, and feedback loops on program relevance and market alignment.

- Develop and maintain systems to track student participation, internships, and placement outcomes; prepare summary reports for the Director, college leadership, and Advisory Council.
- In partnership with college career management staff, support employer and industry outreach efforts to expand internship, full-time placement, and experiential learning opportunities for students in commercial real estate and related fields.
- In partnership with college events and engagement staff, plan and execute industry-facing events such as networking receptions, industry conferences, regional outreach events, and the Centers participation in industry events, in alignment with college and university priorities.
- Maintain regular communication with industry partners and alumni; manage contact databases and ensure accurate records of engagement activities.
- Support the Director in organizing the Centers Advisory Council, including meetings, communications, and follow-up on action items that advance curriculum, research, student engagement, and fundraising initiatives. Support the organization practitioner-oriented presentations and dissemination of Center research to industry audiences.
- Assist with logistics and materials for Advisory Council meetings (agendas, reports, dashboards, and briefing documents) and document Council input for use in strategic planning. Assist the Director and Center-affiliated faculty in coordinating applied and market-based research projects, including partner outreach, data sharing agreements, timelines, and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in business administration, real estate, finance, urban planning, higher education, or a related field; Direct professional experience in commercial real estate (e.g., brokerage, analysis, development, appraisal, lending, asset management, or related roles) or in a real-estate-focused center or institute; Experience designing or managing student-facing programs (workshops, speaker series, site visits, competitions, or skills trainings) in a higher education setting; Experience building/sustaining relationships with employers, advisory boards, or alumni groups, including recruitment, stewardship, and committee or board support; Experience working in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment such as a research university, including collaboration across academic departments and administrative units; Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends; travel to events/meetings.
Pay Range
$59,000 - $77,100 - $94,900
