Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Registrar, Registration will provide support to front line registration processes on the phone and in person. The position will also support efforts in streamlining enrollment processes to increase student success and retention. Provide leadership in the identification of students who face enrollment challenges and offer targeted support, programming, and advising, using data informed processes to engage key stakeholders in student success efforts and help in the creation of college level recruitment and retention efforts. Responsible for data collection to identify process gaps, along with the development of strategic collaborations with Student Services and Academic Affairs partners to implement programs and processes that contribute to the college's completion goals.

  • Facilitate registration of students in courses in accordance with student planning and educational plan as developed by counselor/advisor/faculty in accordance with all registration processes.
  • Partner with Registrar to identify and implement strategic initiatives that will support student success and completion. Analyze, and interpret data to identify opportunities and develop strategies to advance academic achievement and student success. Assess the effectiveness of academic and support services, and develop department goals that align with the College's strategic goals.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at increasing student success, enrollment and completion through the reduction of barriers and an increase in support services and communication. Establish clear goals and track metrics towards completion.
  • Partner with Student Services departments and other campus offices to provide targeted support of student cohorts and organizations to assist with persistence efforts.
  • Implement customized registration procedures as necessary for support of special programs and populations in collaboration with appropriate college departments.
  • Maintain professional knowledge of new developments in student records and registration regulations and student-centric technology to provide recommendations for implementation.
  • Assist with inquiries from students, staff, and community members regarding general processes of admissions, registration functions, residency, course search, class schedules, restrictions, prerequisites, financial aid, payment, and refund policies and make proper referrals, if needed.
  • Serve as a partner in the development of annual registration calendar, enrollment calendar, drop for non-payment dates, refund and withdrawal dates.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on outreach campaigns specific to enrollment, registration and events.
  • Serve on committees and collaborate with education institutions and professional organizations for development and to share best practices.
  • Pursue ongoing development of professional skills and knowledge, including participation in state and national association activities.
  • Participate on various college committees and teams.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, positive working relationships, quality customer service, and the ability to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Other related duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge and abilities, is required
    • Experience
      • Three (3) years of experience in an educational institution in the area of Enrollment, Admissions, Registration or Records or similar environment with demonstrated supervisory/administrative skills required.
      • Highly skilled in the use of Ellucian Colleague or similar SIS.
      • Critical thinker, organizational effectiveness, ability to work with details as well as understand the effects on the larger picture required.
      • Established customer service orientation and ability to handle detailed work and multiple priorities under deadlines required.
      • Proven ability to collaborate with faculty, administration, staff and students from diverse backgrounds, and to resolve conflicts effectively.
      • Possess excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to convey important information clearly and effectively.


    Working Conditions:

  • This position requires a background check and drug screen at the expense of the college.


  • Hiring Range:
    8 Hourly/Starting salary beginning at $23.87/hourly, based on education and experience.

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
