JOB TITLE:
Research Aide-Collaboration Program in Natural Resources
JOB PURPOSE:
Seeking an undergraduate research assistant to support a research initiative focused on the Collaboration Program in Natural Resources (CPNR; https://www.uwyo.edu/haub/ruckelshaus-institute/collaborative-solutions/cpnr.html). This long-running program of the Ruckelshaus Institute has empowered a broad cross-section of leaders in the environmental and natural resource management sectors in Wyoming (and beyond). The goal of this self-study is to take stock of the cumulative impacts of the program. Insights will inform strategies for tailoring communication about those impacts to different audiences and may also guide efforts to add value to the program (e.g., through strategic engagement of the network of alumni).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compile and organize institutional information (e.g., contact information for CPNR alumni)
- Schedule and assist with interviews (mainly on Zoom, some may be in-person) with CPNR alumni about their experiences in the program, current work, and interactions with other alumni
- Collaborate with CPNR faculty and partners to interpret interviews and institutional information
- Assist in the development of outreach and engagement materials based on research findings
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in data management
- Professional communication skills, including the ability to schedule and conduct interviews with people in varied roles
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Interest in communication, natural resource management, environmental policy, or related fields
- Experience with research and/or communication tasks (e.g., note-taking, summarizing interviews, organizing data, or creating outreach materials)
