Position Announcement
We are pleased to announce an opening for the Program Coordinator for Respiratory Therapy at UVU. This vital role, based at our Lehi location, supports the program through coordination of lab and simulation activities, admissions and recruitment management, marketing, budgeting, and administrative operations. Summary of Responsibilities
- Clinical Lab: Collaborates closely with program faculty to develop and implement the lab's vision and mission. Forecasts current and future equipment requirements and student needs within laboratory and simulation courses. Supervises lab setup and takedown of equipment, supplies, and other resources as needed, while minimizing student/faculty downtime during scheduled lab sessions. Using current manufacturer recommendations ensures that function tests are conducted during setup and rehabilitation during breakdown. Conducts preventative maintenance on equipment as needed. Maintains inventory and working knowledge of patient simulators, patient monitors, skills trainers, and other training equipment. Assists with scheduling lab instructional sessions and open lab periods. Coordinates, plans, and sets up practical tests, including manikins, equipment, and supplies.
- Admission Management, Marketing, and Recruitment: Coordinates student applications and admission management for the program, including marketing, recruitment, website management, planning, and execution of information sessions, applicant processing, and pre-testing. Coordinates interview days and orientation of the accepted cohort. Reviews all verified applications, advises with the transfer office, and communicates with all applicants. Processes post-program acceptance documentation for all students, including immunization records, background checks, and drug screening results. Manages wait list and admissions changes. Attends informational events on campus and in the community to promote the Respiratory Therapy program. Maintains program social media and websites. Creates marketing strategies and events in cooperation with the Department Chair and faculty.
- Financial & Administrative: Coordinates the preparation and submission of various reports and documents, including new hire paperwork completion and submission, requisitions, purchase orders, index tracking, and reconciliations. Acquires supplies following university procurement procedures to ensure the efficient and uninterrupted operation of the labs. Establishes, updates, and maintains files on inventory ordering, receiving, billing, and distribution. Develops budget plans and expenditure reports and provides guidance to ensure compliance regarding proper use of funds, purchasing rules, and pro card expenses. Prepares and manages lab budget based on faculty input and forecasted inventory needs. Participates in grant preparation with faculty to augment the inventory of equipment. Manages, prepares, and submits ePAFs and eSAFs for instructors. Provides administrative support for the program, meetings, and special projects.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate's degree in a healthcare-related field and four years of experience related to the summary of duties, totaling a minimum of six years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with laboratory and simulation equipment, as well as education.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

- Knowledge of management principles, including organization, prioritization, effective problem-solving, and good critical-thinking capability.
- Knowledge of academic programs in higher education.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and how to use each effectively.

- Working knowledge of equipment and the latest trends.

- Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement program equipment requirements.
- Ability to adapt to changes in educational standards and technology.
- Ability to stock and maintain the inventory of lab supplies and equipment needed for simulation and skills lab use through the university procurement process and other methods.
- Ability to maintain and repair lab and simulation manikins to ensure proper function.
- Ability to create and implement program marketing events.
