Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Responsible for professionally developing and producing high-quality visual content in support of University's brand, marketing efforts, and enterprise-wide projects. Collaborates with coworkers and campus partners to ideate, plan, develop, and create high quality visual content for marketing, public relations, communications, editorial and social media from university activities and events, environmental portraits, student life, academic life, and self-generated content.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Photographs a variety of original and branded content, in the field, on set, and in the studio, including: studio and location portraits, presidential and campus events, news and editorial stories, marketing content for ads, banners and other collateral, with a focus on consumable content for digital and print applications.
2. Ideates, plans, develops, and pitches concepts for photography projects
3. Develops mood boards, shot lists, and production schedules
4. Produces, Coordinates and executes photography assignments while working collaboratively with clients and team members
5. Culls, Post-Processes, and Edits photography assignments for marketing and narrative quality control and alignment with department projects and goals
6. Applies color & retouching techniques to photography assignments to give each project a professionally polished identity, dependent with projects and goals
7. Ensures assets are on brand and consistent with university look and feel
8. Maintains consistent workflow standards while cultivating our digital asset management and archival systems
9. Owns assigned projects and delivers finished photographs as assigned while adhering to deadlines and project scope.
10. Maintains communication with team and other stakeholders to coordinate the timely delivery of photography and other deliverables
11. Participates in creative and design meetings, while also brainstorming with coworkers for active projects
12. Collaborates with University personnel and the local community, including the President's office, Dean's offices, marketing and communications teams for colleges, units and athletics, etc.
13. Acts as a resource and mentor to student assistants
14. Stays current with digital photographic technology and trends
15. Preserves and maintains studio and photographic equipment

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in photography, Fine Arts or related field

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience
Three (3) years of related work experience in a creative editorial, journalism or agency environment, or self-employed professional

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Preferred Experience
Videography and multimedia experience a plus
Prior experience working in editorial, marketing, or journalism environment
Prior photography experience in higher education

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one-time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of techniques, principles and equipment for modern photography, including motion and lighting to enhance the storytelling process
Demonstrated understanding of proper workflows and pipelines, including media storage, backups, editing workflows.
Proficient in using online Digital Asset Management systems for storage and delivery.
Strong knowledge and skill set of lighting techniques and styles, in the studio and on location.
Strong understanding of storytelling - visually and narratively

SKILLS
Expert proficiency in operating professional level still photography equipment
Proficient in using online Digital Asset Management systems for storage and delivery.
Self-motivated, enterprise-minded, detail-oriented and organized
Possesses client service mindset when collaborating with department and other university colleagues
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
