The position could continue, based upon renewal of funding annually by the California Community College Chancellor's Office. Location San Diego City College Pay Information Range 4 ($7,016.86 - $11,429.72) per month based on the current Supervisory & Professional Administrators' Association. New employees will begin on step A $7,016.86. Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the CBA. The hours are traditionally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs. Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor. Major Responsibilities
  • Serve as lead coordinator for equity-minded practices with a strengths-based approach focused on supporting students' multiple identities and roles, primarily connected with the Intercultural Center, which houses the First-Gen Hub, Pride Hub, and the Womxn's Hub.
  • Collaborate with key Campus and District faculty, classified professionals, and administrators to develop and implement intentional student success efforts, awareness, and best practices to support historically underserved students who may identify as first-generation, LGBTQ+, low-income, undocumented, or womxn.
  • Develop and coordinate intentional programs and events that uplift, validate, and celebrate the student experiences.
  • Organize, coordinate, schedule, and participate in orientations, workshops, and presentations for students, faculty, and classified professionals regarding the Intercultural Center.
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with Campus, District, and community partners to proactively support students' needs related to outreach, enrollment, retention, and completion.
  • Serve as a liaison and resource for Campus, District, Regional, and State communities on student success eorts and funding for the Intercultural Center.
  • Provide technical assistance to students to better navigate higher education through the lens of their identities and roles primarily connected with the Intercultural Center, and connect them to follow-up services.
  • Oversee all communication channels and platforms to better serve students and the general Campus and District communities.
  • Prepare physical and digital promotional materials to be shared with students, Campus, District, and larger communities during information sessions and workshops to explain services and aliated resources at the Intercultural Center.
  • Actively participate in student outreach and recruitment eorts to promote services and resources at the Intercultural Center.
  • Interpret and disseminate College, District, and State policies, procedures, regulations, guidelines, and requirements regarding the higher education system and its impact on the student populations primarily connected to the Intercultural Center.
  • Oversee the maintenance and daily operations of the Intercultural Center.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and provide work direction to personnel supporting the Intercultural Center.
  • Develop tracking systems and collect student and services data through multiple touch points as well as analyze collected data to prepare reports and present them on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify and support the writing and submission of funding opportunities that support students connected to the Intercultural Center.
  • Monitor categorical and restricted budgets connected to the Intercultural Center.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: Master's Degree in Education, Counseling, Public Administration, Business, or related field and three years of administrative experience in an educational organization or social program that services a similar population or program. The following are also required for this academic/educational administrator assignment:

1) One (1) year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's assignment, AND
2) Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff.
OR
1) Two (2) years of recent management experience in an institution of higher education, AND
2) Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and staff. Desired Qualifications
  • Background in coordinating student retention and success eorts from a strengths-based approach focused on supporting students' multiple identities and roles, primarily connected with the Intercultural Center, which houses the First-Gen Hub, Pride Hub, and the Womxn's Hub.
