Job Description
The Department of Public Safety is accepting applications for a Fee Control Clerk position. The Fee Control Clerk is responsible for operations in the traffic office in conjunction with the Senior Budget Clerk, Administrative Lieutenant and Director in support of the department's mission to provide for the safety and security of students, staff, faculty and visitors. This position oversees entry and collection of vehicle registration and parking fines, receiving and maintaining records, and assisting customers and visitors to the campus.
Responsibilities
Job Duties
- Receive, process, correct and maintain vehicle registration information submitted online for faculty, staff, and students.
- Distribution of permits and collection of payment for vehicle registration and parking citations.
- Assist customers with online vehicle registration, making online payments, and online appeals for parking citations.
- Enter, file, export, bill and maintain electronic and written parking citations.
- Interview, train, schedule and supervise 8-10 student ticket-writers.
- Receive, monitor, and distribute daily campus events for officers and student workers.
- Issue temporary parking permits for visitors.
- Direct customers with concerns to the correct personnel.
- Receive and process incoming mail.
- Assist with and maintain an up-to-date key inventory for the entire campus, which includes lost key reporting and ensuring the return of keys once employees leave service at the university.
- Complete a campus-wide key inventory every Fall.
- Complete a student key inventory verification every Spring. Keep track of graduating students to ensure their keys are returned.
- Issue, track, and collect all physical keys.
- Maintain and reconcile ledgers for three accounts.
- Assist in maintaining supplies for the Traffic Office
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma and one year of office experience and working with the public, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of standard office functions, accounting record-keeping, electronic spreadsheets, and computer operation.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to maintain accurate records and files.
Ability to manage employees (student-workers) and perform scheduling.
