Operations Manager - Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection - Georgetown University Law Center

Georgetown Law's Institute for Constitutional Advocacy and Protection (ICAP) uses strategic legal advocacy to defend constitutional rights and values while working to restore people's confidence in the integrity of their governmental institutions. ICAP's experienced attorneys use novel litigation tools, strategic policy development, and the constitutional scholarship of Georgetown to vindicate individuals' rights and protect our democratic processes. ICAP's recent work includes safeguarding rights to free expression, assembly, and democratic participation; combating threats from unlawful private militias and political violence; fighting the criminalization of poverty and other forms of criminal legal system overreach; and defending the rights of young people and marginalized communities.

Job Overview

The Operations Manager executes and manages ICAP's financial, operational, and administrative processes - including but not limited to coordinating with Georgetown Law Financial Affairs on grants and operational funds, contracts, and revenue generating agreements; and coordinating with Georgetown Law Development on gift management and fundraising activities. As well, they provide human resources support - for example, managing hiring, onboarding and offboarding process, as well as supporting ICAP's public messaging and communications efforts.

They also provide a key support to ICAP's leadership team, advising on how to best use ICAP's resources and designing, implementing, and overseeing operational procedures to advance the Institute's mission.

Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation

Reporting to ICAP's Executive Director, the Operations Manager works closely with its entire leadership team.

They interact with the entire ICAP staff as well as university officials, including but not limited to the Centers and Institutes, Finance, Information Systems Technology, Development, and Human Resources teams; and communicate externally with foundation program officers, donor advisors, and other funders and will occasionally communicate with ICAP's co-counsel and organizational partners.

As well, they handle confidential and sensitive information, including litigation documents and human resources information.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in administration, operations, finance, human resources, grant management or similar [note: an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered]
  • Ability to work professionally, independently, and efficiently to achieve a wide variety of tasks
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented working style
  • Self-driven work ethic and initiative and strong capacity for collaboration
  • Strong oral communication skills

  • Significant experience with Workday
  • Strong commitment to ICAP's mission


Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
