The School of Education is seeking applications for the position of Chair in the Department of Educational Counseling and Leadership. This anticipated opening is for the Spring 2018 or Fall 2018 semester and is an open rank position dependent on candidate credentials.

This is an exciting opportunity to build academically rigorous programs on the foundation of the University's excellent liberal arts course of study. Specifically, we are looking for candidates who can assess and lead current programs in Educational Counseling and Leadership in ways that best prepare students for the professional environment. The Chair will be expected to build relationships with outside constituents in educational counseling and leadership to increase enrollment, provide additional opportunities for students, and develop innovative partnerships.

Earned doctorate in counselor education or related field from a CACREP-accredited program.

Successful record of ongoing scholarship and service. Strong commitment to social justice advocacy. Proven excellence in teaching in either school counseling or student affairs/college counseling programs. Strong foundational understanding of the K-16 educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Professional experience in either school counseling or student affairs/college counseling. Experience in an administrative role.
