Teaching Laboratory Engineer

Job Summary

Electro-Mechanical Engineers
Design and develop machines, tools, equipment, and systems with mechanical and electrical parts. Conduct product testing and create models and prototypes. Troubleshoot components and circuitry to suggest and implement solutions. Requires a bachelor's degree and may have an advanced degree, certification, or additional professional training.

Responsibilities
Conducts highly complex work, unsupervised and with extensive latitude for independent judgment.
Recognized as subject matter expert and advanced individual contributor professional.

Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:
Electro-Mechanical Engineer, II: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience. Electro-Mechanical Engineer, III: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience. Electro-Mechanical Engineer, IV: Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences
Knowledge of and experience with 3-D printing.
Working knowledge of standard testing equipment.
Requires a bachelor's degree and may have an advanced degree, certification, or additional professional training.
Requires specialized skill set.
