Position Summary

The Division of University Advancement seeks a motivated Associate Director to help drive philanthropic growth in the College of Arts and Sciences. Join a collaborative, mission-driven team advancing student success, innovation, and meaningful contributions across the university's largest academic unit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and manage a robust donor portfolio by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects capable of gifts $50,000+, spanning early-stage relationships to long-term stewardship.
  • Drive donor engagement and outreach through extensive travel (50-75% of the time) and regular face-to-face visits, deepening relationships and expanding philanthropic support for the College's priorities.
  • Collaborate with advancement leaders, faculty, and volunteers to support strategic fundraising efforts, operating plans, and school events, aligning donor engagement with institutional goals.
  • Participate fully in division and university life by attending meetings, pursuing professional development, and fostering strong internal partnerships.
  • Maintain digital records and adhere to best practices for donor management and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and energy in all interactions, balancing relationship-building with metrics-driven performance.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a fund-development role, with demonstrated success in goal-achievement, planning and personal solicitation. Related experience in professional sales/marketing, financial planning/advising and other fields will be considered.
  • Excellent problem solving and oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen and interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Technical/digital competence.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration as well as the ability to work well both independently and collectively with a diverse team and donor/prospect constituency.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time nationally with a key focus on key alumni/donor markets and work evenings and occasional weekends.
