Support and enhance instructional quality by providing coaching, feedback, and direct academic support to teaching staff and students in asynchronous online learning. Monitor course implementation through regular walkthroughs, collaborate on curriculum quality assurance, and promote academic integrity. Facilitate professional learning communities, mentor new staff, and partner with campus leadership to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.

About the Department and/or College
Texas Tech K-12, a unit of the Texas Tech University Online division, is a state-approved online kindergarten through 12th-grade school that has been meeting students' needs for more than 25 years. Affiliated with Texas Tech University, a Carnegie tier-one research institution, Texas Tech K-12 boasts a rigorous curriculum that allows students to work ahead, make up failed credits, and achieve their goals from wherever they are. Texas Tech K-12 is a Candidate for Accreditation with NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI. Texas Tech K-12 began in 1993 as a "Special Purpose District" designed to help students whose educational needs were not adequately met by traditional school districts. Since then, we have grown to serve students across the country and more than 70 nations around the world.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Conduct walkthroughs daily on a rotating schedule to observe course interactions including feedback, messaging, and live sessions.
  • Participate in the school's Academic Integrity committee to review submitted tickets on artificial intelligence, plagiarism, and other violations to provide a recommendation for course of action by the teacher.
  • Collaborate with curriculum development by conducting quality assurance review of newly developed and revised courses to identify content, instructional, navigation, and other areas that would otherwise impede learning.
  • Provide course level instructional support to assigned teaching staff including grading student work, responding to student messages, and conferencing with students and parents as needed.
  • Conduct regular PLC meetings with designated teaching staff and subject area departments.
  • Participate in campus leadership meetings regularly including occasional travel to Lubbock for in-person meetings as needed.
  • Conference 1:1 with assigned teaching staff on a monthly basis to provide support, feedback, and instructional coaching.
  • Assist with onboarding and serve as a mentor to new instructional staff.
  • Assist with student assessment including working testing sites during state assessment windows (STAAR, TELPAS), SAT, ACT, or other testing instruments utilized by Texas Tech K-12.
  • Participate as an exhibitor at conferences to increase brand awareness and promote Texas Tech K-12.
  • Adhere to Texas Tech University, Texas Tech Online, and Texas Tech K-12 policy for remote work employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; valid Texas teaching certification; minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching experience in online settings; previous experience leading a team of teachers, including providing formal instructional coaching.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or higher in education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or related field; Texas SBEC certification in Mathematics (Secondary level); 2+ year's experience as an instructional leader within a traditional or virtual school campus; experience supporting academic integrity or student discipline processes.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Active listening, critical thinking, detail oriented. Able to solve problems quickly and resolve escalations.

Pay Range
$53,900 - $70,100 - $86,200
