About the Department and/or College


Major/Essential Functions
1) Building Events & Information Center Operations (40%)
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of the Information Centers and assist with building events to ensure smooth operations, customer service, and a welcoming environment.
  • Serve on the team as an additional point of contact for building-wide events; coordinate logistics, staffing, and resources through Mazevo to ensure readiness of public spaces, meeting rooms, and lounges.
  • Support event management in Mazevo, including reviewing and approving requests, creating event diagrams/maps, and communicating with clients to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a seamless experience.
  • Oversee daily operations of the games area, including pool tables, ping pong tables, and related equipment; coordinate acquisition, maintenance, and repairs to ensure usability.
  • Partner with campus departments and external clients to support building-wide activities, ensuring alignment with Student Union & Activities (SU&A) standards.
2) Student Crew Supervision, Training & Scheduling (25%)
  • Supervise Information Center and building student staff; assign tasks, verify completion, and provide on-the-spot coaching.
  • Supervise approximately 40 student assistants.
  • Train student employees in customer service, building procedures, equipment handling, and safety practices; maintain training logs and manuals.
  • Build weekly work schedules aligned with building operations and events; track time, ensure adequate coverage, and recognize strong performance.
  • Assist in coordinating student employee recognition each semester in partnership with SU&A management staff.
3) Equipment & Supplies Oversight (20%)
  • Manage acquisition and maintenance of building equipment, including games area assets, conference/event supplies, and office materials.
  • Conduct special event orders for conferences, building-wide events, and departmental needs.
  • Manage and track outdoor space inventories for the SUB to include but not be limited to Red Raider Plaza, North Plaza, Gazebo, and West Plaza.
  • Ensure timely ordering, proper use, and accountability of all outdoor space needs.
4) Orientation, Events & Committee Support (10%)
  • Coordinate SU&A's professional involvement in Red Raider Orientation (RRO), New Employee Orientation, Select Tech, Connect Tech, and various fairs in conjunction with the Marketing team.
  • Partner with departmental professional staff to ensure SU&A presence is well-prepared and aligned with divisional priorities and materials are readily available for each event.
  • Assist with planning and execution of departmental signature events and large-scale campus programs.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience equal to five years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with and supervising many students.
  • Experience working with events and/or the service industry


Pay Range
$17.69 - $22.98 - $28.32
