The Georgia Southern-East Georgia Campus in Swainsboro provides more than 1,700 students access to affordable, quality higher education. Students can pursue associate degrees, career focused bachelor's degrees, and transition pathways to the 150-degree programs offered on the main campus. The campus offers a tight-knit community with residential options. The beautiful 400-acre pine forest campus has two small lakes, a challenging 18-hole disc golf course, and an active apiary, and is one of only 115 Bee Campuses across the nation.
Job Summary
The full-time history faculty member will teach history classes within the Department of Arts and Humanities on the Georgia Southern University - East Georgia Campus. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face-to-face and online formats. Travel between campus locations may be necessary.
Required Qualifications
Earned Master's degree (or higher) in History or closely related field with at least
eighteen graduate-level semester credit hours of specific work in History required.- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful college teaching experience is desirable.
- Ability to teach face-to-face and online courses.

Conditions of Employment
All work (with limited exceptions such as research and study abroad outside activities such as grading and email correspondence) for Georgia Southern University must be completed while the employee is physically present in the state of Georgia, unless specifically authorized by the university for a specific purpose and limited period of time within current policy.
Faculty are expected to contribute to the vibrant university community by engaging students, participating in events, and performing other responsibilities on campus. Faculty may be required to teach, conduct research, or perform service duties on any of the four campuses. Georgia Southern provides accessible transportation options between campuses.
