Digital Communications & Outreach Student Intern

Job Summary
The QEP/PAGES Digital Communication & Outreach Student Intern will work with the University's Skills Advantage Initiative and the PAGES program on supporting career readiness opportunities for FGCU students by assisting with social media management, digital communications, and community engagement.

Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting in management and development of social media content that aligns with program & messaging guidelines.
  • Supporting the coordination of events and outreach activities.
  • Spearheading different communication projects to support these initiatives.
  • Designing graphics, posters, and promotional material using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
  • Supporting cross-departmental projects aimed at enhancing students' career prospects and readiness.
  • Meeting weekly with supervisors and collaborators to plan and report on the progress of varied projects.
  • Attending meetings and events as necessary for planning and promotion.


Other Duties
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled as a student at the University and in good academic standing.
  • Proficient in using various social media platforms.
  • Availability to work 10-12 hours per week.
  • Work in the office twice a week for your shift.
  • Move signage around campus.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Skills such as photography and data visualization are preferred but not required.
  • Proficient utilizing CapCut or similar editing tools.
  • Federal Work Study (FWS) students encouraged to apply!


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of social media design and software, including programs such as Canva.
  • Strong writing skills, oral communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond to supervision, guidance, and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in team settings.
  • Must be able to table at events.
