The Department of Psychological Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, Assistant Professor in Counseling Psychology to begin September 1, 2026.

Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a dynamic student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with a breadth of student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.

As a faculty member in the Department of Psychological Sciences, you will be expected to: 1) Contribute to teaching mission of the Counseling Psychology doctoral program and department through supervision in the in-house Psychology Clinic, other graduate and undergraduate teaching, and mentoring doctoral students; 2) Develop a record of peer-reviewed research; 3) Compete for external funding; and 4) Provide service to the Counseling Psychology doctoral program, department, college, university, and profession.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must receive their Ph.D. from an APA or CPA accredited Counseling Psychology program by August 2026.
Applicants must have completed an APA or CPA accredited clinical internship by August 2026.
This position is open to any research area within Counseling Psychology. However, the position requires a strong record of research productivity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, grant submissions, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

A record of pursuing funding (both successful and otherwise), particularly from federal agencies (e.g., NIH, NSF, etc.),
Formal experience teaching (TA or Instructor of Record) at either the graduate or undergraduate levels,
Experience providing clinical supervision to graduate students, particularly doctoral students.
