About the Opportunity
Summary:
The Academic Assistant is responsible for facilitating equitable access for students taking exams as well as overseeing the day-to-day processes of the DRC. The Academic Assistant works in collaboration with the Exam Services Associate to provide support for all stages of the exam proctoring process, including professor communication, student scheduling, and materials preparation. The Academic Assistant interacts with students, faculty, and families to provide optimal delivery of DRC services and can handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy. The position requires a self-motivated, technically competent and flexible individual capable of performing to a high standard in a fast-paced customer service environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 1-2 years customer service experience
- 1-2 years working in an office setting
- Advanced professional communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Ability to manage multiple competing deliverables
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepares exams, extra materials, and internal documentation for tests happening the next day at the DRC.
- Serves as the first point of contact for all visitors by phone, email, and in-person at the front desk.
- Manages the office budget including payroll and ordering office supplies.
- Maintains an inventory of crucial office supplies and orders more as necessary.
- Acts as a liaison between the DRC and other university offices including, but not limited to, Housing, Student Life, the Student Employment Office, the Office of Global Services, and individual academic departments.

Expected Hiring Range:
$23.02 - $31.66
