Job Description
The Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, seeks applications and nominations for the position of digital executive communications coordinator. The digital executive communications coordinator is part of the executive communications team in the Office of Communications and Marketing and works directly with the chancellor and vice chancellor on communications strategy and delivering key messages from campus leaders to both internal and external audiences.

The Office of Communications and Marketing is dedicated to advancing the university's reputation. We craft audience-focused communications based on data, best-practices, and emerging trends.
The division comprises several cross-functional teams, employing more than 50 full-time professionals with expertise in design, development, video production, content strategy, feature writing, editing, marketing, media relations, internal communication, and special events.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to content strategy and develops content plans for the chancellor's website, quarterly newsletter, employee hub, LinkedIn, and other social platforms as appropriate.
- Supports the development of strategic messaging for the chancellor and other campus leaders
- Writes content for the chancellor's website, including news posts, thought leadership pieces, op-eds, and messages to campus.
- Develops and executes social media strategy on LinkedIn to grow the chancellor's reputation and visibility among key audiences.
- Drafts remarks and scripts for videos and events attended by the chancellor
- Collects data analytics and provides insights that drive content planning and decision-making.
- Maintains the chancellor website
- Builds and sends the quarterly chancellor newsletter
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of communication and delivering messages to a variety audiences
- Working knowledge of higher education landscape
- Knowledge of social media trends and best practices
- Knowledge of web content management systems
- Outstanding writing skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to develop short-term and long-term content plans
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Represents the university in a professional manner
- Interacts effectively with campus partners, office staff, and UT administrators
- Provides and is receptive to feedback and constructive criticism

Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, arts and humanities, and social sciences, or other related field. At least three years of communications experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Preferred: At least five years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without need now or in the future for sponsorship for employment visa status.
Salary
The hiring range for this position is MR09. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
