The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Whitacre College of Engineering at Texas Tech University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track, open-rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) to begin January 16, 2026.
Major/Essential Functions
In line with TTU's strategic priorities to engage and empower a diverse student body, enable innovative research and creative activities, and transform lives and communities through outreach and engaged scholarship, applicants should have experience working with diverse student populations at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels within individual or across the areas of teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
Required Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a field closely related to the search is required.
- The successful candidate must have a record of teaching existing undergraduate and graduate courses and of developing new courses, or a record that demonstrates experience in both areas.
- Candidates are expected to build a research infrastructure that leads to extramural funding, scholarly publications, collaborations, and the training of students or other related fields to complement existing research activity in the Department. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply.
- Service to the Department, College, and University is expected. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students as evidenced by testimonials, employment records, publications, or similar is desirable.
- This position involves research, work on, or access to critical infrastructure. In accordance with Texas Executive Order 48 and applicable federal and state regulations, candidate may be subject to a review of relevant criminal history and security-related background checks.
- Because a significant portion or the funds available for telecommunications infrastructure is regulated under International Traffic in Arms (ITAR)/EAR, the successful candidate must be able to work in an environment conforming to ITAR requirements, either currently or working to meet necessary requirements within these regulations or as otherwise required by the project sponsor.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:
- Those with expertise in the telecommunications related research area (open radio access networks, integrated sensing and communications, and cyber physical telecommunications security).
