This position will be working in an outpatient setting in a UCR Health location and at affiliate sites. The Radiologic Technologist provides comprehensive medical services to support the health and wellness needs of our patients in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. Performs radiologic and fluoroscopic exams/procedures and administrative functions for the Radiology Unit.

Demonstrates and applies knowledge of principles of radiation safety. Prepares and positions patient for procedure by using established protocols to achieve the highest quality image. Enters complex data into the computer system. Reviews, verifies and evaluates images and radiographs to ensure technical quality and image quality. Demonstrates effective communication and conflict resolution techniques with physicians, leadership, and coworkers. Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for technical work associated with radiology orders for the outpatient clinic: selection of radiographic images, positioning of patients, operation of various radiologic and automated equipment, document in EPIC, maintenance of patient records, preparation of records of procedures performed and supplies used, conferring with providers, interacting with patients. Independently perform duties/tasks as outlined. Meet as needed with the leadership and physicians to discuss operations and concerns

1. Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology, a valid certificate in diagnostic radiologic technology issued by the California State Department of Health, and 18 months of experience in radiologic technology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Registered for membership in American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

3. Knowledge of medical terminology, with ability to distinguish between- types of procedures within the assigned department(s) and medical diagnoses. Ability to adapt to advancement and changing technology and recognize contraindications for exams.

4. Skill in using the standard fixed and mobile x-ray imaging equipment.

5. Oral and written communication skills to collect and clearly convey information to radiologist, physicians, staff, patients and the public, using correct vocabulary, grammar and tact. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.

6. Skill in performing all daily tasks independently, while working as part of a team, within a demanding environment.. Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with radiologists, administrators, supervisors, doctors, peers and public.

7. Skill in operating radiographic film processor. Ability to assess radiographic film quality.

1. Licensure by State of California, Department of Health Services, as Certified Radiologic Technologist.

2. Demonstrated experience working in a college or university environment.

3. Experience with GE Imaging equipment.
