FOUNDATION:
Under the direction of the Interim Associate Dean, the IT Coordinator is responsible for supporting RCE's information technology infrastructure, systems, and security including databases, business intelligence tools, websites, e-commerce applications, registration and student information systems, a wide variety of office technologies, and classroom media required to ensure the successful operation of the comprehensive array of programs and services offered by Regional & Continuing Education (RCE). Utilizing a knowledge of IT systems, applications, and programming, the incumbent resolves IT needs and implements solutions to ensure IT systems that are both effective and efficient for RCE as well as integrated and compliant with campus standards. Other key duties include assisting with the day-to-day coordination of RCE's IT team; application programming, implementation, and documentation; database design and analysis; and collaboration with campus technical teams.

Utilizing a proficient knowledge of IT systems, applications, and programming, the incumbent works relatively independently to resolve IT needs and develop solutions to ensure IT systems that are both effective and efficient for RCE as well as integrated and compliant with campus standards. Other key duties include the day-to-day coordination of RCE's IT team; application programming, implementation, and documentation; database design and analysis; and collaboration with campus technical teams.

Required Education:

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE FOR FOUNDATION:
A bachelors degree, preferably in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or business OR equivalent training and three months full-time applied experience, demonstrating knowledge of systems analysis, application development, and database design, and abilities required for this position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE FOR CAREER:
A bachelors degree, preferrably in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or business OR equivalent training and applied experience are required. Three years of experience in systems analysis, application development, and database design and/or related experience are required to demonstrate the knowledge and ability required for the position.

Special Requirements:
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.   • This position is considered a decentralized (federated) IT service provider as such incumbent is required to adhere to campus policies, standards, and procedures related to information technology support, information security, change control, desktop, server and application standards, accessibility standards, applications and web development standards, vendor access requirements, training , and more. Incumbent is expected to become familiar with and support campus compliance efforts for respective area.
  • Throughout employment in this position incumbent must maintain a valid California Drivers License as well as continued completion and compliance of the CSU Defensive Drivers Training course.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR FOUNDATION AND CAREER:
Incumbent/applicant will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. This position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office. Must be able to travel across campus to other offices and buildings on and office campus for meetings and events; must be able to carry and position bulky computer workstations. May work alternate hours to accommodate unit and program need including after hour meetings and special events. The position requires domestic travel. Travel is via private vehicle, rental car, shuttle or plane.

WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR FOUNDATION AND CAREER:
This position involves frequent interaction with RCE staff and other campus units. Work is performed in a typical open office environment with cubicles or segregated office spaces with standard office equipment.
