We are searching for an experienced Temporary and On-Call Substitute Custodians - Evening Shift at our Santa Maria Campus facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Temporary and On-Call Substitute Custodians - Evening Shift

Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for temporary and on-call custodian's evenings and late night shifts for the Santa Maria and Lompoc Valley Center campuses supporting the Facilities Department. The successful candidate must pass a Department of Justice clearance before the start date.

The incumbent will: clean classrooms, offices, halls, and other rooms; arrange furniture; sweep, scrub, mop, strip, wax, and polish floors; dust floors and ceilings; apply sealer to cement floors; vacuum, shampoo, and steam clean rugs and carpets; vacuum drapes; clean and properly maintain restrooms; empty and clean trash and garbage cans; clean chalkboards and chalk trays; dust and wash furniture, bookshelves, woodwork, fixtures, counters, and equipment; polish metal works, woodwork, and furniture; wash walls and windows; clean glass and mirrors; sweep concrete surfaces/walkways adjacent to school buildings; empty pencil sharpeners; clean lights and light fixtures; wash outside of buildings; participate in thorough cleaning of college plant and facilities during recess/vacation periods; maintain supplies; make minor repairs; move furniture and equipment; secure buildings; report safety hazards; operate a district vehicle; train and supervise student help; and perform other related duties as assigned.

SALARY:

$12.00 an hour

Work Schedule:

Santa Maria campus: 3:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Monday - Friday

Or

Lompoc Valley Center campus: 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Monday - Friday

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of basic cleaning methods and basic safe work practices related to custodial work.

Demonstrated ability to learn and follow established cleaning methods and schedules; use cleaning materials and equipment efficiently; make minor non-technical repairs; work independently; understand and carry out simple oral and written directions; and work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work.

Education and Experience: Individuals with the knowledge and demonstrated abilities listed above are considered as possessing the necessary education and experience.
