Sr. Director of Finance and Administration


The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Sr. Director of Finance and Administration.

Strategy
  • Assist Dean and members of the Executive Committee on long range strategic planning

    Finance
  • Oversee the restricted and unrestricted funds allocated to the College of Arts and Letters.
  • Allocate funds for non-regular faculty hires.
  • Primary contact for special funding requests.
  • Supervise College of Arts and Letters financial systems.
  • Prepare and coordinate College of Arts and Letters budget submissions to the Office of the Provost.
  • Manage and track endowed chair accounts and lines for the College.
  • Coordinate graduate stipends and graduate program decisions with Graduate School

    Staff in College of Arts and Letters
  • Provide staff leadership and direction for College
  • Second-level supervision for all staff in the College of Arts and Letters, including the review of performance reviews and recommending annual salary increases.
  • Facilitate corrective action, when necessary, and recommend strategies for improving performance.
  • Facilitate University Human Resources practices and processes for all College of Arts and Letters departments and programs.
  • Monitor College of Arts and Letters staffing structures and review recommendations for new staff.
  • Coordinate hiring searches for vacant staff positions as necessary throughout the College
  • Serve as point-of-contact for chairpersons on staff personnel issues, especially those requiring the involvement of the Office of General Counsel and Human Resources.

    Centralized Management Functions
  • Supports and facilitates diverse College departments/programs and affiliated staff.
  • Facilitate faculty department chairs in managerial oversight and departmental planning.
  • Central point of contact and resource for operating and administrative needs of the College.

    Academic Space Planning
  • Directs College of Arts and Letters facilities utilization and renovations across 16 university building locations.
  • Coordinates and liaisons with campus building services, facilities management, architects office and College departments and faculty to assure facility needs are met in an effective and efficient manner.

    Infrastructure
  • Coordinate administration and implementation of College of Arts and Letters computing and information technology with Arts and Letters Computing Office (ALCO).
  • Supervise Design, Copy, and Logistics Services (DCL) operations.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Masters degree or the equivalent in relevant experience. Human Resources or staff management experience. Ability to integrate and communicate financial and non-financial information to diverse constituents.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Previous higher education experience.
