JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Project Coordinator will directly support three large research projects funded by the Institute of Education Sciences and the National Science Foundation in Dr. Erin Ottmar's Educational Psychology and Mathematics Learning Lab. The project coordinator will be responsible for a wide-range of administrative and analytic tasks, including: support for grant initiatives (e.g., reviews of literature, programs, policies, and webinars), data management (e.g., cleaning and coding quantitative and qualitative data), research support (e.g., help conducting experiments, conference presentations, manuscript preparation and review, grants management, IRB), communication and administration (e.g.,meeting and travel arrangements, training undergraduate research assistants, note taking). They will also help support recruitment and maintain relationships with teachers and their schools who participate in these projects, and help manage the creation and implementation of materials, content, and interventions for these teachers. They will also be asked to perform other related job duties as assigned.

The Project Coordinator will have the opportunity to engage with WPI Learning Sciences and Technology students, faculty and staff as well as researcher consultants and school districts across the country. The position offers early scholars an opportunity to learn hands-on how to develop, conduct, and disseminate interdisciplinary, education practice and policy-relevant research.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have: (1) a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Development, Education, Statistics, or related field; (2) strong analytic, writing, and communication skills; (3) the ability to balance, prioritize, and follow-through with multiple tasks and attend to detail with a big-picture understanding of applied research; (4) an aptitude for and interest in data management and measurement; and (5) interest in programs and interventions aimed at improving the education of children. The candidate should be highly organized, think critically, flexibly and analytically, and be able to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Experience working in research conducted in K-12 classroom settings is a plus.

Please include a CV, a cover letter and at least three reference contacts (email and phone) with your application. The position is for two years.
