About the Position:
The Contracts and Procurement department provides the campus community with cost efficient and effective handling of acquisitions and contracting needs in accordance with State laws and CSU policies. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Property Clerk II. Reporting to the Contracts Operations Manager in the Division of Administration & Finance, this position is the lead Fullerton Asset person for the campus and is responsible for maintaining the CFS Asset Management System (AMS) module. This position has property control on one of the larger California State University campuses (with more than 5,000 FTE) and an Asset Management System comprised of approximately 11,500 items. This position independently analyzes and reviews purchases to determine potential asset additions and works with the various campus departments to arrange for additions into the AMS. This position will provide lead direction and oversight for two staff members and 1-2 student assistants to ensure tagging, inventory and removal of asset are in accordance with CSU and Campus policy. In addition, this position works closely with the various campus departments and Auxiliaries for "In-Kind" donations and Auxiliary transfers of property to the University as well as planning and directing the Physical Inventory cycles, again in accordance with State and CSU policy. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Three years of experience inventorying and maintaining control records for a wide variety of property and equipment or expendable storekeeping items. Prospective applicants who have not had the experience listed may be considered eligible based on other evidence of meeting the above minimum qualifications of the position. Thorough knowledge of the methods and practices used to inspecting, maintaining, issuing, taking, and recording
inventory; general knowledge of property accounting and disposal and departmental budget preparation. Ability to inventory widely scattered and diverse property; reconcile inventories with control accounts; inspect and
recommend proper maintenance of property; lead the work of others; keep inventory control records and make reports; read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; and make mathematical calculations.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Special Working Conditions:
May be required to travel in and out of buildings in a wide variety of weather conditions. May need to bend, kneel or stoop to identify property tags in confined spaces. Will carry a Master Key.
