About Nevada State College:
Founded in 2002, NSC is a four-year public college located on a developing 512-acre campus in the foothills of Henderson, Nevada (adjacent to Las Vegas). NSC serves approximately 4,900 students who are highly diverse and largely underserveda majority of our students are first generation, racial/ethnic minorities, parents, and/or returning students. We seek applicants who are passionate about working with this promising student population and collaborating with faculty and staff across departments to make a lasting impact in developing our young institution.

Core Responsibilities:

Overseeing the quality of the placement experience for the student teacher(s) in multiple Northern Nevada counties.
Visit the student teacher the equivalency of eight times.
Establish a cooperative relationship and regular communication with district teacher.
Serve as the official liaison between the district school and Nevada State College School of Education.
Complete a mid-term and final evaluations.
Collaboration with the NSC Director of K-12/College Partnerships and Field Experiences through weekly communication.
Teach a seminar once a week during semester, 2 hours per meeting session. Seminar responsibilities include: lesson planning for seminar content; grading and performance evaluations for student teachers, including midterm and final evaluations; and, organizing end of semester Student Teacher presentations.

This position will be paid $1,000 per credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in teaching area.
Minimum of three years (full-time) experience teaching children in K-12.
Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
Effective interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
Commitment to active learning and teaching strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate in teaching area.
Previous teaching experience with undergraduate students.
Relevant experience in K-12 settings.
Experience in web-based coursework.
