Position Description
Contributes to the university's mission through teaching and service, some variation by academic unit.

Major/Essential Functions

Lead a design studio section, either alone or under a Studio Coordinator, that brings students through an entire design process with attentiveness to individual student guidance, while meeting and exceeding stated Student Learning Objectives
Demonstrate effectiveness as a teacher, as evidenced by student and peer evaluations of teaching.
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts. Maintain student attendance records, grades and other required records.
Evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments and papers in a timely manner.
Advise students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues

Required Qualifications
Terminal academic degree (or its equivalent) as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Ability to teach effectively. This position will be classified as Security Sensitive and require a criminal background check if selected for employment.
