Reports to: Assistant Athletic Director
Director of Athletics
Classification: Graduate Assistant- 12 Months - 1508 Hours - 29 hours per week
Description: This position is designed to give the qualified candidate hands on experience with all facets of an intercollegiate athletics program. This is a two year position with the expectation of successful graduation from Carroll University with a Master's Degree. This position is supervised by the Assistant Athletic Director.
Responsibilities:
Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.
Assist with all aspects of home game and event management.
Assist with corporate sponsorship program including solicitations and activations.
Assist with athletics fundraising including annual fund, crowd funding, and events.
Assist with concessions, ticket and merchandise sales.
Assist with developing web and social media content.
Assist with promoting athletic events with other campus groups to increase attendance.
Follow all applicable NCAA, CCIW and Carroll University policies and guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Maintain full time status in an eligible Carroll University graduate program
Additional approval is required for entrance in graduate programs outside of Education
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree required (sports management, marketing or related field preferred)
Previous experience as a student-athlete or athletics department employee preferred
Human Relations Skills:
Excellent communication skills as they relate to working with a variety of constituents.
Ability to function effectively as a team player within the program and athletics department.
Ability to conduct self in a productive, professional manner at all times, representing Carroll University at the highest level with University staff, student athletes, alumni and fans.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software and an ability to quickly learn new technology applications.
Special Requirements:
Must have valid motor vehicle license and be insurable under the University's insurance plan.
