Position Information:
Provides administrative and financial support to the Department of Statistics and three interdepartmental graduate programs. Under direct supervision of the Financial Services Analyst II, assists the Program Directors, Financial and Administrative Officer (FAO) and Department Chair with administrative and financial policies and procedures. Reviews and reconciles monthly general ledgers and payroll expenditure (DOPE) reports. Performs web recharges, redistributes departmental expenses as appropriate in UCRFS. Processes travel and purchasing for the department and interdepartmental graduate programs. Processes expense transfers, deposits, and gift acceptance forms. Provides ad hoc financial reports and analyses to PIs, Program Directors, Direct Supervisor, Department Chair and FAO as needed. Independently responsible to enter courses into R'Summer system and work with Department Chair to coordinate summer teaching application process. Serves as the Department Safety Coordinator and primary editor of the departmental website. A pre- employment assessment will be conducted as a part of the selection process.

Basic knowledge of financial or accounting concepts, processes and procedures.

Basic knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
Interpersonal skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems.
Expert level proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Publisher, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat.
Demonstrated experience working with state and federal funds.


Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate flexibility to promote efficient and effective customer service and support.

Knowledge of UC Systemwide and Campus Purchasing and Travel Policies and procedures.

Demonstrated experience working with an online web content management system, basic knowledge of website design and development.
