Director of Recruiting (FT) – Recruitment Department

Effective immediately: (FT) Director of Recruiting – Wilmington University's Recruitment Department at the Wilson Graduate Center.

The Opportunity: If you're passionate about meeting enrollment numbers and working with people in a variety of environments such as academic settings or corporate environments, you might be a perfect match for our Director of Recruiting position. We're looking for an ambitious professional with a proven track record in the higher education market or corporate sales environment to join our team. This position oversees both full-time and part-time staff and must work cross-functionally with University departments to meet enrollment goals and optimize event outcomes. Your job would be to work with each recruiter within their zone on a regular rotation and manage the overall recruiting goals, accomplishments, and strategies. Requirements: A bachelor's degree is required, a master's degree is preferred. Degree in marketing or business preferred. However, the degree may be in any field related to sales, public relations, or recruiting. A minimum of two - five years of management or sales experience which demonstrates success at leading a small team of recruiting/sales individuals. Must have excellent communication, customer services skills, and organization skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of data dashboards is preferred. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation is a must.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Lead the calendar of recruiting activities and create efficiencies and outcomes that support recruiting goals.
  • Investigate new events and trade shows, prioritize them to maximize our presence with the appropriate, desired, demographic audience.
  • Work with University Relations Department to develop marketing materials to be utilized in recruiting efforts at key events.
  • Work with the Assistant Vice President to develop a strategy for recruiting to increase prospecting yield for new student applicants by target audience.
  • Develop team of recruiters and train said group to operate independently in the field and expand their business development capabilities.
  • Promote the University and our academic programs by coordinating with External Affairs, academic partners, business partners, and University departments.
  • Evaluate metrics on specific programs and recruiter zones and instruct recruiters to adjust recruiting activities appropriately.
  • Prepare bi-monthly and quarterly "sales" reports and submit findings and analysis to senior management as requested.
  • Serve as the point of contact with vendors, partners, and University constituencies as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President.

    Hours of Employment: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (Candidate will be asked to be flexible with hours which will require evening and weekend activities.) Travel will be necessary.
