Position Information
Under the direction of the Senior Associate Dean, Medical Education, the Medical Education Manager for the Department of Medical Education is directly responsible for all administrative operations encompassed within the department's clinical, research and academic missions. In partnership with the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education, Associate Dean for Preclerkship, Associate Dean for Clinical Medicine, Associate Dean for Medical Education Quality and Compliance and faculty leadership, the Medical Education Manager is responsible for the execution of decisions made by the respective Associate Deans and Senior Association Dean for Medical Education regarding the medical education program across preclinical and clinical years of the curriculum. He/She provides administrative oversight for all medical education programs in years 1 through 4 of the undergraduate medical education curriculum; contributes to the development of policies, procedures, manuals, and other written communications required for accreditation and quality enhancement; manages and staffs the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee for Medical Education; maintains continuous quality improvement dashboards; works directly with the Associate Dean for Medical Education Quality and Compliance (ADMEQC) and other Associate Deans to oversee all functions of medical education quality and compliance functions as a liaison between education leaders to facilitate integration of all aspects of the curriculum; works directly with the ADMEQC to oversee all aspects of preparing for the medical school's LCME review; maintains detailed knowledge of medical school policies and regulatory requirements of federal and state agencies; oversees contracts of clinical faculty in collaboration with the Associate Deans; serves as Coordinator for the LCME Institutional Self-Study and as such monitors preparation timelines and committee operations, develops reports, and prepares submissions of all required documents; ensures prompt and accurate submission of all AAMC and LCME required forms and requests; participates in monitoring all LCME standards for the medical school; works with all units in medical education and student affairs to ensure that all LCME curricular requirements are met for successful accreditation; works collaboratively with the Education Finance and Administrative Officer (FAO) and with all medical education units to develop, implement and monitor budgets. Serves in an advisory capacity to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education on all matters related to the department's operations, taking initiative to develop administrative policy as required and works closely with the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education to facilitate effective decision-making processes. Serves as the main point of contact with the department for non-medical issues and serves as a liaison with other departments as well as other campus offices and organizations and as administrative liaison for affiliated hospitals and external agencies. Ensures that all University policies and procedures are strictly followed and enforced for all sources of revenue to the department.

Demonstrated ability to effectively administer and manage complex department operations and programs based on analysis, judgment and knowledge of applicable government, institutional and other policies and regulations in an academic environment.
Skill to write formal reports, preparation of business plans, proformas, presentations, correspondence and other written material using proper grammar and punctuation.
Knowledge of regulatory information related to Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), and Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).


Preferred Qualifications
Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; accounting and payroll.

Solid knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and/or personnel management within labor contract(s) and personnel policy.

Solid knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
