Essential Functions:
ABOUT THE POSITION

Working with our dedicated faculty and classified professionals, the new Director, Title V will champion our students' quest to improve their lives and their communities. The successful candidate will join a community that is committed to academic achievement, student equity, inclusiveness, collaboration, transparency, and shared leadership among all constituency groups: students, faculty, classified professionals, and administrators.

Under the direction of the Vice President, of Instruction (VPI), the Director provides leadership and direction for college-wide development, implementation, and evaluation of special academic technology projects, programs and services for the Title V grant. The Director will serve as the liaison and lead the coordination with the district, other campuses, other college departments, technology support services, faculty, and administration in the effective delivery of technology projects and strategies that promote student success and support important initiatives throughout the campus and the district. The Director will work collaboratively with all constituent groups across the campus to implement training, strategies, services and initiatives to further current implementations and foster the development of new technologies in instruction and student services. The Director will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities as they relate to the Title V grant:

  • Collaborate with President's Executive Council, administration, faculty, and classified professionals to provide leadership for technology initiatives and implementations in instruction and student services at Fresno City College (FCC);

  • Serve as a liaison between Technology Support Services (TSS) and the office of Instruction to ensure coordination in all current and future technology integrations at FCC, including membership on the Technology Advisory Committee (TAC);

  • Provide leadership to program planning, implementation, and evaluation processes;

  • Develop strategies to institutionalize grant initiatives at the campus/district;

  • Serve on the FCC Professional Development Committee and ensure proper training and development in both existing and emerging technologies across the campus;

  • Serve as the primary point of contact in coordinating district-wide and state-wide technology initiatives and integrations as outlined in the grant;

  • Work with the VPI on budget development and outside funding and partnership opportunities to enhance the technology offerings for instruction and student services;

  • Work with VPI and Institutional Research department on collecting and analyzing data related to Fresno City College's effective use of academic technologies;

  • Engage campus stakeholders to develop activities and programs around implementing and supporting existing and emerging technologies;

  • Work with the constituent groups to develop, promote and support instructional and student support connections that foster and enhance student success through the integration of appropriate technologies;

  • Coordinate faculty development workshops, programs to improve teaching and learning;

  • Work with Faculty Coordinators on organizing tutorial staff professional development to advanced online pedagogy and improve student learning;

  • Supervise and evaluate faculty coordinators, faculty, and appropriate classified professionals;

  • Attend, conduct, and participate in a variety of district meetings and committees as assigned;

  • Prepare and deliver oral presentations to a variety of constituent groups campus and/or, district-wide;

  • Serve as a resource to the college on grant related technology issues, planning and strategies; and

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • An earned masters degree from an accredited college or university
    AND
  • One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrators administrative assignment;

    OR

  • Possession of a valid California Community College Supervisory Credential.
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Recent experience in managing Federal, State, and Local funded grant programs;
  • Recent experience with instructional technology initiatives at the community college level or above;
  • Experience planning and delivering professional development in the area of academic technology;
  • Knowledge and understanding of current technology initiatives throughout the State, District and College;
  • Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technology platforms that relate directly to instruction and student services in higher education;
  • Effective organizational, planning, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to perform duties in a timely fashion with attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial resources effectively, including determining how best to utilize resources and managing budgets and expenditures;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products or with a similar suite of word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software;
  • Familiarity with the statutory and regulatory requirements of California Community Colleges;
  • Evidence of successful management of grants and major projects;
  • Ability to create a welcoming environment that positively engages and impacts our creative workforce and diverse student population;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
  • Evidence of a commitment to teaching/learning and the vision of a learning-centered institution and community;
  • Related work and professional experience;
  • Recent experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American, and other racially minoritized students and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes;
  • Willingness to examine and remediate ones relational practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students;
  • Experience and skill with addressing issues of equity;
  • Potential for contribution to institutional vitality and growth; and
  • Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals.


Conditions of Employment:
223 duty days and 22 vacation days for a total of 245 days.

Salary and Benefits:
The current annual salary range for this position is $95,181 $119,693. A doctoral stipend of $2,082 is available. In addition, the District offers an attractive fringe benefit package including medical, dental, and vision coverage for the employee and dependents, and life insurance. Employees are also members of the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS). NOTE: The District is currently conducting a compensation study for all academic administrator positions. Once completed, this assignments salary may change.

Selection Procedure:

Based on this rating, a small number of applicants will be selected as the ecommended candidates. These candidates will be forwarded to the Vice President of Instruction and College President for final interviews. A hiring recommendation will be made by the College President and forwarded to the Board of Trustees of State Center Community College District for final approval.
